The FMS Lady Rockets improved to 4-0 on the season with an 11-1 run rule win over E.A. Cox Thursday night in Chapel Hill.
Forrest scored six runs in the first inning to take control of the contest, scored two more runs in the fourth, and put the game on ice with a three-run sixth inning.
Lainey Mays picked up the win in the circle for FMS, tossing the first three innings before Madison Curtis came on in the fourth to finish the contest.

The Cornersville Middle School Lady Bulldogs evened their record at 3-3 on Thursday night by defeating the Richland Lady Raiders 9-4 at home.
After overcoming an early 1-0 deficit, the Lady Bulldogs built a 9-1 lead through the first three innings of play before coasting to the five-run victory.

The FMS Lady Rockets faced their toughest test of the season Friday night at the Field of Dreams in Chapel Hill, holding on for a 5-4 win over a determined Liberty squad.
"We were proud of the girls, they stuck together and pulled it out," said FMS head coach Bunky Elmore. "It was the first time all year we were tested and we needed that."
Samantha King turned in a stellar performance, going the distance for the win in the circle for the Lady Rockets.
King gave up four hits and one earned run, walked three and hit two Lady Patriot hitters, while striking out a career high 15 in the contest.

The Lewisburg Middle School Tigerettes (4-0) had to scratch and claw to keep their perfect record intact on Friday night, as they rallied to defeat county rival Cornersville Middle School 8-7 on the road.
After jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning, the Lady Bulldogs (3-4) held a 5-4 advantage through the first six innings of play and appeared poised to hand LMS their first loss of the year.

The Lewisburg Middle School Tigerettes rolled to their second straight win on Monday night when they went on the road and thrashed a mistake prone Spring Hill Lady General squad 16-1 in five innings.
After scoring 10 runs in their last game against Community, the Tigerettes (2-0) enjoyed another productive day at the plate and finished with 12 hits and three walks against Spring Hill starting pitcher Lily Soverns. The Lady Generals' defense did Soverns no favors either and committed eight errors in the contest, which contributed to 13 of LMS' 16 runs.

The FMS Rockets held their ground in a doubleheader at Unionville on Monday, coming back to win game two 6-4 after losing by the closest of margins in game one 3-2.
"We played real good in both games," said FMS head coach Bart Joyce. "Our pitching and defense has been great, but we just got to get some runs across the plate."
Jacob Jones had a big day at the dish in the twin bill, going 4-7 with four runs scored, one RBI, and five stolen bases.

The FMS Rockets turned in an all-around solid performance Thursday night in Chapel Hill, easily defeating E.A. Cox 8-1.
"It was a great effort tonight from the boys," said FMS head coach Bart Joyce. "They played hard and like I said the other night, we needed to get runs in when we get them in position and tonight we executed with the bats to get them in."

The FMS Rockets are not used to losing, not having lost a game since E.O. Coffman beat them last year, but on Thursday, the Generals routed Forrest 12-0 in a five-inning, run-rule win in Spring Hill.
Forrest managed just two hits in the ballgame on a double by Dylan Eady in the second inning and a single by Jaylen Smith in the third.
Marshall McKee was the only other Forrest base runner when he walked with two outs in the first inning.

It was snowy and frigid, but the show went on Friday night and the LMS Tigers persevered, icing the Spring Hill Generals 7-5 in their season opener at the Jonathan D. Hollingsworth Memorial Field in Lewisburg.
First year LMS head coach Frank Musgrave said after the game, "We started out good at 1-0, but they got ahead of us there and we got a little worried about, but we than we started to swinging the bat a little bit better, got some guys on base and really had some guys come through for us."

After squeezing out a 7-5 win over Spring Hill in their season-opener, the LMS Tigers had a much easier time against Whitthorne on Monday, blanking their namesakes 10-0 in a five-inning run rule win.
"We got off to a good start tonight, we started swinging the bats in the first inning and it makes it a lot easier when you get eight runs in the first," said LMS head coach Frank Musgrave.

The FMS Rockets gave up a first inning run to Liberty before rolling over the Patriots 11-4 Monday in Chapel Hill, improving their record to 2-0 on the young season.
"We've had a great start to the season," said FMS head coach Bart Joyce. "The boys have worked really hard, but we still have a lot of work to do."
Jonathan Lykins picked up his second win of the season on the hill, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits over four innings of work.

Chilly weather conditions were unable to cool off the bats of the Lewisburg Middle School Tigerettes on Tuesday night, as LMS opened the 2013 softball season by defeating the Community Viqueens 10-7 in Unionville.
The two teams were locked in a 1-1 tie through the first two innings of play before the Tigerettes exploded for nine runs over the next three frames to forge a 10-1 lead. LMS then had to stave off a late rally by Community to hold on for the three-run victory.

The Cornersville Middle School Lady Bulldogs (1-1) let a win slip through their fingers on Monday night, as they suffered a heartbreaking 5-4 road loss to the Spring Hill Lady Generals after squandering a late two-run lead.
CMS held a 4-2 lead through the first four and a half innings of play, but Spring Hill (1-0) narrowed the gap to 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth before crossing home plate twice in the seventh with the aid of two walks and an error to hand Cornersville their first loss of the season.
