The Lewisburg Middle School Tigerettes rolled to their second straight win on Monday night when they went on the road and thrashed a mistake prone Spring Hill Lady General squad 16-1 in five innings.

After scoring 10 runs in their last game against Community, the Tigerettes (2-0) enjoyed another productive day at the plate and finished with 12 hits and three walks against Spring Hill starting pitcher Lily Soverns. The Lady Generals' defense did Soverns no favors either and committed eight errors in the contest, which contributed to 13 of LMS' 16 runs.

Sydne Solomon and Hannah Sheppard both tallied two hits and 2 RBI to lead Lewisburg's offensive attack. Starting hurler Halle Chapman, Leah Hollingsworth, Blair Richards, Skylar Brandon, Laura Beth Brown, Alli Hobbs, Courtney Edde, and Kathryn Donahue all notched one hit for the Tigerettes as well with Hollingsworth, Brown, Hobbs, and Donahue each driving in one run.

Second win

Chapman also went the distance in the circle to run her record to 2-0 on the season, allowing one run on just two hits and a walk in five innings of work to go along with three strikeouts.

Shelby Secrest doubled and scored a run to account for the Lady Generals lone extra base hit of the game, while Taylor Price singled.

Spring Hill was in the giving mood early in the contest, as the Tigerettes plated an unearned run in the top of the first inning with the help of two Lady General errors to grab a 1-0 lead.

Soverns managed to hold LMS scoreless in the second inning, but Lewisburg blew the game open in the top of the third by crossing home plate six times in the frame on the strength of four Spring Hill errors, a walk by Brown, a Edde RBI single, and a pair of two-run triples by Solomon and Brown to forge a 7-0 advantage.

Load of runs

In the top of the fourth, the Tigerettes pushed across two more runs to stretch their lead to 9-0. After drawing a one-out walk, Solomon moved into scoring position on a single by Brandon before Brown and Sheppard delivered consecutive two-out RBI singles.

The Lady Generals notched a run in the bottom of the fourth to trim the deficit to 9-1 when Secrest raced home on a passed ball after belting a one-out double and advancing to third on a passed ball.

Lewisburg brought the mercy rule into effect in the top of the fifth by tallying seven runs in the inning behind two Spring Hill errors, a RBI double by Hobbs, and singles from Richards, Solomon, Chapman, Donahue (1 RBI), and Hollingsworth (1 RBI) to forge a 16-1 advantage.

Chapman then retired the Lady Generals in order in the bottom of the fifth to wrap up the Tigerettes' victory.
