The Cornersville Middle School Lady Bulldogs (5-4) completed the season sweep of Richland by whipping the Lady Raiders 13-2 in five innings on Thursday night in Lynnville.
Having defeated Richland 9-4 two weeks earlier, the Lady Bulldogs held a 4-2 lead through the first two innings of play before outscoring the Lady Raiders 9-0 over the final three frames to pull away for the 11-run victory.

On Thursday, the Marshall County Tigers picked up their first win in District 12-AA play when they thrashed the Fairview Yellow Jackets 15-4 in five innings at home to snap a two-game losing streak.
Having scored just a total of five runs in their three previous games, the Tigers (2-2, 1-2 District) finally broke out of their offensive slump and finished with 10 hits and four walks against two Fairview pitchers while the Yellow Jackets (4-2, 2-1 District) committed five errors in the contest.

Coming off losses to Smyrna and Columbia the previous night, the Marshall County Tigerettes (5-3) righted the ship on Saturday morning when they defeated a previously unbeaten Richland Lady Raider squad 3-2 in their final pool game of the Middle Tennessee Softball Coaches Association T
Tournament at Ridley Park in Columbia.
After MCHS jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, Richland (4-1) plated two runs in the top of the fifth inning to tie the contest at 2-2. The Tigerettes then pushed across a run in the bottom of the sixth to seize a 3-2 advantage before holding the Lady Raiders scoreless in the top of the seven to claim their fifth victory of the season.

The Forrest Lady Rockets put aside two days of fun in the cool sun at Panama City Beach and got back down to business on Tuesday, sweeping South Walton High School 2-1 and 5-2 behind back-to-back solid pitching performances in the circle by Katie Warrick and Sara Jordan.
Forrest also came up with some timely hitting, an improved defense, and a little bit of help by the Lady Seahawks in game two.

After a huge 10-0 win over District 12-AA rival Page on Thursday, the Marshall County Tigerettes had a letdown on Friday, dropping their first two pool games at the Middle Tennessee Softball Coaches Association Tournament at Ridley Park in Columbia, 6-0 to Smyrna and 4-2 to Columbia Central.
Game one versus Smyrna (10-3) belonged to Lady Bulldogs' hurler Makenzie Prince, who tossed four innings of one-hit ball in the circle to improve her record to 9-1 on the season.

The FMS Rockets (12-2, 11-1) are right on track to defend their four-year stranglehold on the Mid-South Baseball Conference, going 4-0 on the road last week to clinch the number one seed in the upcoming conference tournament, beginning on April 6.
"We cannot get satisfied," said FMS head Coach Bart Joyce. "At this time of the year, with a week left in regular season, everyone has to step up their game going into the tournament."

Rocket righty Tanner Garvin pitched five innings of three-hit, seven-strikeout ball before the sophomore handed the ball to his freshman teammate Ryan Yelensky, who mopped up in a 1-2-3 sixth inning to cap off a 14-0 win at Summertown on Wednesday.
The Rockets put up two runs in the opening inning and they stood up for four innings as neither team scored again until Forrest busted the game open with six runs in the fifth inning.

Summit handed the Marshall County Tigerettes their first loss of the season on Wednesday night when they defeated MCHS 12-7 in Lewisburg.
After losing all three meetings against Marshall County last year, the Lady Spartans (2-4, 2-3 District) knocked the Tigerettes (3-1, 2-1 District) back on their heels early in Wednesday's contest and built a 9-0 lead through the first two and a half innings of play before claiming the five-run victory.

On Tuesday, the Cornersville Bulldogs scratched another mark in the win column when they beat defending District 11-A regular season champ Mt. Pleasant 6-5 at home to remain undefeated on the year.
The Tigers held a 5-1 lead through the first four and a half innings of play, but the Bulldogs (5-0, 3-0 District) put together a rally in the bottom of the fifth and plated five runs in the frame to seize a 6-5 advantage.

If the Marshall County Tigers hope to repeat as District 12-AA champions, they will have to dig themselves out of an early season hole after losing 1-0 to the Summit Spartans at home in nine innings to fall to 0-2 in conference play.
The two teams were locked in a 0-0 tie through the first eight innings of play before the Spartans scored the go ahead run on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth to take a 1-0 lead. Summit (2-4, 2-0 District) then snuffed out a Marshall County rally attempt in the bottom of the ninth to complete the season sweep of the Tigers (1-2).

The Forrest Rockets completed a home-opening sweep over Fayetteville City Tuesday night behind a strong effort on the mound by sophomore Logan Hollingsworth and some big lumber in a 12-2 win in game two of a double-header.
Hollingsworth picked up the win with five strong innings of four-hit ball as he allowed just one earned run, while walking two and striking out six Fayetteville City batters.
Freshman Jesse Pruitt continued the stellar effort on the hill for the Rockets, taking over for Hollingsworth in the sixth inning.

Zach Horvath, the lone senior on the Forrest baseball squad this season, went to the hill in the Rockets' home opener Tuesday and turned in a solid performance to go along with some big bats that produced a 10-2 win over Fayetteville City in the first game of a doubleheader sweep over the Tigers in Chapel Hill.
"It felt good to get the win," said Horvath. "I think we all played good, I was glad I got to pitch. It was good to play at home and I am really excited about the rest of the season."

After the two teams battled to a 1-1 tie through the first four innings of play, Forrest (14-1) began to distance themselves from LMS down the stretch and scored eight runs over the next three innings to claim their fourth straight win over the Tigerettes (5-2).

Marshall County (2-1, 1-0 District) put the game out of reach early and forged a 5-0 lead in the first half before tacking on another goal midway through the second stanza to cruise to their second win of the season.
