The Marshall County Tigerettes fell out of first place in the District 12-AA standings on Tuesday night after dropping a 4-2 decision to archrival Giles County at home.
Having won the previous four meetings against the Lady Bobcats, which included a 9-7 victory on March 14, the Tigerettes (8-6, 6-3 District) appeared to be in good shape midway through Tuesday's contest and held a 2-0 lead through the first four innings of play.

Coming off a humbling 8-1 loss to Lewis County the previous evening, the Marshall County Tigers turned in one of their best performances of the season on Tuesday night when they defeated District 12-AA rival Spring Hill to hand the Raiders their first loss of the year in conference play.
After winning all three meetings against Spring Hill last season, MCHS (10-5, 6-3 District) was locked in a 1-1 tie with the Raiders through the first three and a half innings of play.
The Tigers' bats then began to heat up after that point, as they tallied six runs over the next three frames while Marshall County starting pitcher Matt Sharp held the Raiders (12-5, 8-1 District) scoreless the rest of the way.

The Lady Rockets fell 6-2 Wednesday night to Davidson Academy in Chapel Hill as the infield error bug continued for Forrest, who have dropped two in a row for the first time this season.
"Tonight was a little better effort than last night, but we don't want to start this losing habit," said Forrest head coach Becky Cheatham. "We have got to stop the mental discourse and get focused."

Monday in Murfreesboro, the Forrest Rockets prevailed 5-4 over District 9-A foe MTCS behind a solid complete game effort by Zach Horvath and some clutch hitting by the lone FHS senior.
Horvath gave up zero earned runs in seven innings on the hill, while walking three and striking out eight Cougar batters.

The FMS Lady Rockets ended the regular season in style Wednesday afternoon, beating Community 8-2 to finish with a 16-1 record, going in to this weekend's Big South Conference Tournament, where they will hope to defend their title.
Lainey Mays struck out a season-high 15 Viqueen hitters in a complete game effort, while giving up six hits and walking one.

After claiming a wild 18-11 extra inning victory over Columbia Academy the previous evening, the Cornersville Bulldogs completed the season sweep of CA on Tuesday afternoon when they defeated the Maury County private school 10-5 at home to remain undefeated in District 11-A play.
Columbia Academy (2-9, 1-5 District) hung tough early on and battled CHS to a 3-3 tie through the first three and a half innings of play.

The FMS Rockets are in unfamiliar territory after suffering a huge 10-4 loss to host Liberty in the first round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament Monday night.
"It was not the start that I was hoping for," said FMS head coach Bart Joyce. "We had a bad top of the first inning and just dug a hole that we couldn't get out of. We had a couple of errors that we couldn't get back and it cost us."
The four-time defending champion Rockets dug a sinkhole, putting them down 8-0 in the top of the first inning.

Spring Hill (4-6, 4-3 District) snapped the Marshall County Tigerettes' three-game winning streak on Monday night when they defeated MCHS 5-1 in Lewisburg to earn a split of the regular season series.
Marshall County (8-5, 6-2 District) had won the last four meetings against the Lady Raiders, which included an 8-1 victory on March 12, but were unable to solve Spring Hill starting pitcher Haley Perryman on Monday, as the sophomore hurler limited the Tigerettes to just three hits in the contest while issuing no walks.

The Cornersville Lady Bulldogs completed the season sweep of District 11-A foe Culleoka on Monday night when they defeated the Lady Warriors 8-1 on the road.
Cornersville (3-2, 3-1 District) had crushed Culleoka 14-3 six days earlier, but were on upset alert for much of Monday's contest, as they trailed 1-0 through the first four innings of play before tying the game at 1-1 in the top of the fifth.
The Lady Bulldogs, however, finally broke the game open in the top of the seventh inning and pushed across seven runs in the frame en route to claiming their 14th straight victory over the Lady Warriors.

On Friday, the Lewisburg Middle School Tigerettes (8-4) completed the season sweep of county rival Cornersville (6-5) when they went on the road and defeated the Lady Bulldogs 6-4 to snap CMS' three-game winning streak.
After narrowly beating Cornersville 8-7 in their previous meeting on March 8, the Tigerettes were involved in another tightly contested affair with the Lady Bulldogs on Friday, as the two teams battled to a 4-4 tie through the first six innings of play.

The Marshall County Tigerettes had one big inning on offense and Grace Medley had seven solid innings in the circle as Lewisburg beat the Lewis County Lady Panthers 4-3 Friday night at Reese Hambrick Field to take over first place in the District 12-AA standings.
"Any time Lewis County comes to town we know they are a tough, gritty team and we are always going to expect a good game out of them," said MCHS head coach Holly Cook. "I expected to hit her (Bass) a little better, but obviously, like I told the girls, any time you can get a win over Lewis County, I'll take it."

The FMS Lady Rockets made easy work of Columbia Academy Monday afternoon at the Field of Dreams in Chapel Hill, crushing the Lady Bulldogs 16-1 in a three inning run-rule win.
With the win, Forrest improved to 15-1 on the season and ended conference play with an undefeated slate.
"After that big game versus LMS last week, this was a lot easier," said FMS head coach Bunky Elmore. "It was a great chance to get a lot of kids some playing time."

Senior pitcher Dylan McKnight helped the Marshall County Tigers (9-4, 5-2 District) collect their fourth straight win on Friday night by tossing a complete game shutout to lead MCHS to 2-0 win over the Lewis County Panthers (4-8, 2-6 District) at home.
McKnight outdueled Lewis County staff ace Charter Helton and racked up 10 strikeouts in seven scoreless innings of work while limiting the Panthers to just five hits and two walks en route to earning his third win of the year.

After an exciting 4-1 win over Eagleville at Vanderbilt on Monday, the Forrest Rockets completed the sweep over their District 9-A opponents with a big 11-1 five-inning run-rule win in Chapel Hill Tuesday night.
The Rockets had only five hits in the contest and were the recipients of nine bases on balls issued by the Eagleville pitching staff, plus five errors in the field by the Rutherford County squad.

On Tuesday, Sara Jordan nailed a solo home run to go along with a grand slam by Katie Warrick to tag-team Forrest to an 11-1 win at Huntland.
On Wednesday afternoon, Jordan continued her hot streak, pitching and powering the Lady Rockets to an 8-0 win over Eagleville at the Field of Dreams in Chapel Hill.
"Sara did a good job on the mound, we did a good job hitting, and we improved a little bit defensively," said Forrest head coach Becky Cheatham. "As long as we can maintain that consistency and gain some momentum, we will be OK."

After narrowly defeating E.A. Cox 10-9 the previous evening, the Lewisburg Middle School Tigerettes (7-3) had a much easier time with Westwood on Tuesday night, as they crushed the Lady Rockets 15-0 in four innings at home.
LMS starting pitcher Halle Chapman turned in a dominant performance in the circle and tossed a no-hitter while racking up 10 strikeouts and issuing two walks en route to picking up the win.

Coming off a 5-2 win over East Hickman the previous day, the Marshall County Tigerettes notched their second straight victory on Tuesday night when they defeated District 12-AA foe Hickman County 8-6 at home.
After MCHS (7-4, 5-1 District) jumped out to an early 6-0 lead, the Lady Bulldogs (4-5-1, 2-3 District) came storming back and tied the game at 6-6 in the top of the fifth inning.
The Tigerettes, however, kept their composure and plated two runs in the bottom of the fifth to seize an 8-6 advantage before holding Hickman County scoreless over the final two frames to claim their eighth straight win over the Lady Bulldogs.

The Marshall County Tigers (3-2) moved back above the .500 mark on the pitch when they whipped the Wayne County Wildcats 5-0 on Tuesday night in Lewisburg.
Despite coming off a two-week layoff, MCHS looked sharp early and scored three times in the first nine minutes of the game to take a 3-0 lead into the break before tacking on two goals late in the second half to cruise to their third win of the season.
The Tigers put heavy pressure on Wayne County's net throughout the contest and outshot the Wildcats 37-10 overall.
