The Rolling Stones still tour. Paul McCartney still releases new music. So why shouldn’t Marshall County’s own favorites us two and him have a new CD release too, “Growing Up Country in Marshall County USA” .

“We’ve been playing a long time and we’ve enjoyed it,” said band member John Rickman.

The three Chapel Hill natives, brothers John and Jim Rickman (the us two in the name of the band) and Phil Comstock (him), have been playing together for almost 50 years in a journey from their first gig in a shelter at Henry Horton State Park to the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.

For over a decade, the trio were regular guests on the “Ralph Emery Show,” a Nashville morning television institution, and have played all across the nation.

Rickman assembled the 20 songs on the CD from previous us two and him releases, tied together by growing up in Marshall County, a frequent theme of Rickman’s songwriting over the years.

“They were fun to write and they’ve been fun to play,” said Rickman.

Cost of the CD is $10.

It can be purchased at H&S Pharmacy in Lewisburg or at First Commerce Bank or David Jent Realty offices in Chapel Hill or directly from Rickman at either 931-273-8616, johnrickman47@gmail.com, or Facebook.com/UsTwoandHim.
