Thieves took a truck last week and used it to transport their stolen goods.

That's according to a Lewisburg Police report which shows the following.

Police were called to East Commerce Metals just before 7 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, when employees discovered a business' truck was missing, along with $20,000-worth of copper wiring.

The 1997 white Chevy pickup truck was parked unlocked at the front of the building. It appeared to have been driven to the side of the building and parked next to the wire, which was loaded on to it. Thieves then made their getaway by driving through East Commerce Metal's perimeter fence, causing an estimated $3,000 in damage. A 10-by-20 foot blue tarp worth $50 was also taken.

The truck has wood sides and a tilt bed. The license plate number is H-2713985, and the VIN number is 1GBJC34RXVF047552. The truck's value was estimated at $10,000.

Police urge anyone with information concerning this, or any other crime, to call CrimeStoppers at 359-4867.
