Before the summer's over, "The Answer Book," a comprehensive, full-color guide to Marshall County, will be available to residents and prospective residents alike, thanks to hard work by the Tribune staff, and an idea that originated with General Manager Jim Ward.
"The Answer Book" will be included with the Aug. 9 paper. Copies will also be available at the Chamber of Commerce, each City Hall, real estate offices, medical offices, motels, and many local businesses. It will be used for recruiting industries and businesses by the Industrial Development Board and the Joint Economic and Community Development Board.
"The Answer Book" will contain information on Marshall County history, government, education, industry, agencies, organizations, annual events, healthcare, churches, and much more.
The cover photograph will be taken by Ken Todd of Too Squared.
The last time Ward created an answer book it was also for Marshall County, but in Kentucky, where he was publisher of the Tribune-Courier.
The book for our Marshall County will be similar, on glossy paper, and all in full color. It will be designed for easy reading and quick reference. If you've lived here all your life, you'll look at it often to see pictures of people and places you know.
If you're new to the community, "The Answer Book" will become your constant companion, as you work your way through the process of getting utilities turned on, paying taxes, enrolling your children in school, finding medical providers, joining a church, and even, at the end of a long day, deciding where to go out to eat.
Adverting space will sell out fast, so call Glenda Ward at 359-1188 today to get your ad in. Don't forget, this book will be widely available throughout the county and beyond, guaranteeing exposure for your business.
If you're not already a Tribune subscriber, this is a good time to become one: The Answer Book, a glossy magazine you'll refer to over and over again, will come free with your paper. If you've never subscribed before, you'll get a free patriotic umbrella when you sign up, so don't delay -- hurry to 111 West Commerce Street today.
