Talkin' trash

Marshall County, three of its municipalities and its residents would realize a number of benefits if county and state regulators grant Waste Management's request for permission to develop a landfill at Cornersville to replace the one west of Lewisburg.

Disposal of household trash from residents of Lewisburg and Chapel Hill would be free, according to Glenn Youngblood, regional director for Waste Management Inc., who led the presentation to a special committee of county leaders Thursday night.

In Cor-nersville, disposal would be free, but collection would be conducted by the company. It would provide each home with a 90-gallon barrel on wheels for household trash.

For the more than 5,000 residents beyond city limits who currently either pay for trash removal or take their waste to convenience centers, Waste Management would. . . .Pickup a copy of today's Tribune, Wednesday, April 16th for entire coverage and Landfill opponents hear an offer they can refuse!
