Kent Sweeton (left) is congratulated on his retirement from Lewisburg Water and Wastewater after 32 years of dedicated service by Trigg Cathey, general manager.
“Kent has been so valuable to us with his degree in microbiology,” said Cathey. “It takes a lot of knowledge and skill to perform his job as well as he has for so many years.”
Sweeton was born and raised in Orlando, Fla. He got his degree from the University of Central Florida and worked for Seminole County environmental services, before being drawn to Lewisburg in 1987 to get away from the big city growth of Orlando and to the rural lifestyle that Lewisburg offers. Sweeton has worked for five different general managers and through large-scale expansions of the city’s wastewater plant.
Sweeton plans to do a lot of hiking and enjoying the great outdoors. Lewisburg Water and Wastewater wishes him well.
