Marshall County Mayor Mike Keny signs a proclamation declaring September as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month in the county. More than 1,100 Tennesseans die to suicide every year with thousands more attempting the act. Suicide is the second leading cause of death between the ages of 10 and 24 cause of death and more veterans and active duty personnel die by suicide than combat. Marshall Countians are urged to educate themselves on the signs of suicidal behavior and reach out to their friends and neighbors in order to reduce the occurrence of this tragedy.
