It’s only appropriate that the weekend before Halloween for Lewisburg to get a treat.
The Marshall County High School Freshman Chorus and Concert Choir are performing their annual show at the Dixie Theatre, opening tomorrow night.
Under the direction of Elise Dumser, the choirs are celebrating the rich musical history of Walt Disney Studios, from the “Mickey Mouse March” to the more recent classics of “Frozen” and “Moana.”
Far from a formal performance, the talented singers will touch on dozens of Disney’s best known works through several medleys , combined with choreography and a fair bit of whimsy.
The show is an opportunity to support the vocal music program at MCHS, which requires rigorous auditions and demanding practice schedules and consistently produces All State level performers form one of the county’s best extracurricular programs.
Shows are scheduled for Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. with a matinee on Sunday at 2 p.m.
Tickets for the show are $10 and may be purchased at the theatre box office one hour prior to show times.
