It was a classic pitcher's duel in Monday night's 12U softball nightcap as Mane Street Salon's Samantha King and Cornersville Lions Club's Mikaela King squared off with the second place Chapel Hill squad prevailing 3-0.

Samantha King tossed five innings of no-hit ball from the circle for Mane Street before Daelyn Dowers came on in relief in the sixth.

Kathryn Donahue greeted Dowers with a leadoff single to break up the no-no before Dowers retired the next three batters in order to record the save.

Samantha King would get the win in the nine strikeout, five walk, no-hit effort.

Prosser was just as tough, allowing just a leadoff single to Chloe Bruce in the first inning and an RBI triple by Samantha King in third inning.

Mane Street got on the board first, scoring an unearned run in the bottom of the second as Carson Warner reached on an error to lead-off the inning, went to second on a passed ball, took third on a ground out and scored on an RBI fielder's choice by Morgan Hill.

With two outs in the top of the third, Cornersville's Aliyah Holder drew a walk and stole second, but Samantha King whiffed the next batter to end the threat.

In the bottom of the inning, Rickee Gale Carter walked with two down and raced all the way home when Samantha King lashed a triple into the gap in left/center.

Samantha King retired the side in order in the fourth and fifth innings, and in the bottom of the fifth, Bruce drew a base on balls to leadoff the frame.

Bruce stole second and would race home one batter later when Carter reached on an infield error.

Dowers came to the circle to begin the sixth for Mane Street and Donahue stroked the clean single to center, but was quickly erased when Hill fielded a one-hopper in left and gunned to second base for the force out.

Dowers mowed down the next two batters to end the game.
