• On Dec. 25, LPD responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Haynes Street. The 911 caller said that Misty King had asked them to call because she was being beaten by Christopher King. Finding no one at the address, police were later told that the pair were in Harmon Park. Misty King would not offer any information to officers about any assault, but officers found that Christopher King was under bond conditions specifying he stay away from Misty King...

• On Dec. 25, LPD responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Haynes Street. The 911 caller said that Misty King had asked them to call because she was being beaten by Christopher King. Finding no one at the address, police were later told that the pair were in Harmon Park. Misty King would not offer any information to officers about any assault, but officers found that Christopher King was under bond conditions specifying he stay away from Misty King.

At that point, according to the report, Mr. King became argumentative, stating that Ms. King had dropped any protection order in General Sessions Court. The bond conditions were from Lewisburg City Court and were still in effect, and that Mr. King had a Jan. 9 court date in City Court. He was held on a violation of bond conditions.

Leaving his hearing on Jan. 9, Mr. King was assaulted by Misty King outside of the Lewisburg Police Department. Witnesses reported that Ms. King initiated the incident by grabbing him around the neck. She was charged with domestic assault and held on $1,000 bond.

The next morning, LPD was again summoned to the residence where Misty King had shown up demanding to get clothes, according to Christopher King. Ms. King was arrested for violation of bond conditions, her agreement from the day before forbidding her to be around Mr. King.

• Cody King of Lewisburg was charged with aggravated domestic assault on Jan. 7. According to the police report, King threw a picture at his wife, broke down the door to his home, and acted as if he was chambering a round in a firearm, in a fit of anger directed toward her. King was held on $7,500 bond.

• Jerome Nance was charged with domestic assault in a Jan. 7 incident in which Nance allegedly grabbed a knife and poured a beer over his girlfriend’s head after arguing over his drinking. While being booked at Marshall County Jail, a small bag of what was believed to be marijuana was found in Nance’s jeans, which he claimed were not his jeans. He was additionally charged with introduction of contraband into a penal institution and total bond was set at $10,500.

• Elvis Marsh was arrested on Jan. 2 and charged with domestic assault after Lewisburg Police performed a welfare check at his home, discovering that while Marsh and his wife had been arguing he had struck her in the face, leaving bruises. He was held on $1,500 bond.

• On Dec. 28, LPD stopped a vehicle on Hull Avenue after it had crossed the yellow center line several times. The driver, Shannon Ghea, said the car was a friends and that she was not used to driving it. The officer noted that Ghea seemed nervous and, asked if there was anything in the car, maintained that if there was it did not belong to her. When the Lewisburg K9 officer arrived on scene, Ghea left the vehicle and produced several plastic bags that she said were hers. They contained what was believed to be methamphetamine, marijuana, 18 2 mg Alprazolam tablets, one Suboxone strip, and one tab of acetaminophen/oxycodone. She was charged with simple possession of Schedule II, III, IV, and VI drugs as well as possession of schedule II methamphetamine. Bond was set at $35,500.

• Officers responding to a shoplifting report at Walmart on Jan. 5 discovered that Jenny Davis, while having purchased some items had $67.36 in merchandise concealed on her person. Loss prevention at the store reported that this was not their first run in with Davis so police decided to arrest her on the shoplifting charge. Davis was in possession of a prescription bottle for hydrocodone in her name but it contained Xanax, for which she did not have a prescription. She was charged with possession of a Schedule IV drug as well as shoplifting and held on a $3,000 bond.

• The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department reported that they had been contacted by a woman regarding a phone scam. A man claiming to be from the Internal Revenue Service had called threatening her with arrest unless she bought and transferred $300 in iTunes gift cards to him. This scam has been circulating for months and could become more common as tax season approaches. The IRS does not accept gift cards as payment.
