Hundreds of people came out on a beautiful fall day for music and munchies on Marshall County's Courthouse Square last Saturday when the Lewisburg Lions Club conducted its annual pancake and sausage breakfast.

The program has been expanded to include lunches with hotdogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, all the fixin's and the usual soft drinks sold from the Lions Club trailer parked next to the white canvas tents pitched on the Courthouse lawn.

It might be seen as a warm-up for the annual Goats Music and More Festival in Lewisburg's Rock Creek Park. The Lions will be selling breakfasts on Friday and Saturday mornings during Goat Fest from their big red and white striped tent in Rock Creek Park.

In preparation for Octoberfest on Lewisburg's public square this past weekend, members of the Lions Club were getting ready at about 4 a.m. They started serving pancakes and sausage at about 6 a.m.

There were 223 pounds of pancake mix purchased and suitable number of packages of patty sausage. Coffee and other drinks were sold for breakfast.

At about 10:15 a.m. they started cooking hamburgers, hotdogs and cheeseburgers.

They used all their buns and sold out by 1 p.m. It was one of the earliest times to stop selling lunches.
