Nurse at NHC Oakwood receives $5,000 scholarship
NHC HealthCare Oakwood presented Dakota Lee with a $5,000 scholarship to pursue the Registered Nurse program at Columbia State Community College this fall.
“Dakota was selected from a pool of applicants across the South Central Region,” said Ryan Vaden, Administrator at NHC Oakwood. “He models the growth and leadership that we value at NHC.”
Lee, who began at Oakwood in 2006 as a Certified Nursing Assistant, has served in a variety of roles. After graduating from Marshall County High School, he later continued his education at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology at Shelbyville and became a Licensed Practical Nurse.
The scholarship was awarded through The Foundation for Geriatric Education (TFGE), a nonprofit that supports educational endeavors in the field of geriatrics. Each year, NHC supports its partners with thousands of dollars of financial assistance through TFGE and tuition reimbursement programs.
