Cadet TSgt Isaiah Moretti recently participated in the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) National Cadet Special Activities Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training Familiarization Course Mississippi (SUPTFC MS) at Columbus AFB, MS.

Cadet TSgt Moretti participated in a simulation of the training events that an enlisted United States Air Force (USAF) student learns in a 52-week program including aerospace physiology; aircraft system classes; memorization of emergency procedures; and simulators.

One day is devoted to reporting with a USAF pilot training flight where cadets are quizzed on emergency procedure memory items and then shadow an enlisted USAF SUPT student for part of a day. SUPTFC is conducted by USAF Reserve Officers--Air Force pilots who have a wide variety of USAF flying backgrounds.

Each Civil Air Patrol cadet that graduates from the training receives a graduation certificate and a pair of real Air Force Pilot Wings! The wings cannot be worn now, but the wings will motivate Civil Air Patrol cadets to achieve their goal of becoming a USAF Pilot.

Cadet TSgt Isaiah Moretti is currently serving in the Southern Middle Tennessee Squadron in Lewisburg, TN. For more information about CAP membership in the Southern Middle Tennessee Squadron—meeting times are Tuesday evenings 6:30-8:30 PM at Ellington Airport in Lewisburg, TN—contact Major Suzanne England at 931-637-2677.
