Lewisburg Police Officer Lipinski was forced to draw his weapon recently in order to detain a suspect.

Several units responded to a domestic dispute in progress call at 527 Jackson Avenue, Lot No. 18 on Feb. 8.

When Police Sgt. Sawyers arrived on the scene he approached a female subject sitting in front of the trailer to speak to her. At the same time Officer Lapinski walked to the back door and observed a shirtless male exiting the trailer armed with a shotgun. Drawing his service weapon, Officer Lipinski ordered the subject to drop his weapon and lie face down on the ground.

Throwing the shotgun behind him, the male, Bobby Mooneyham, was ordered to lie on the ground several times before complying with the officer’s commands. “... the subject slowly went to the ground still smoking a cigarette and did finally lay down,” a police report stated.

The shotgun was found to be loaded with two shells.

According to the police report, the female had argued with Mooneyham about a man coming to the residence to buy narcotics.

When she later tried to apologize, Mooneyham had reportedly gotten the shotgun from the bedroom, put it to the female’s chest, and threatened to kill her.

Mooneyham then put the gun down and allegedly threw the female to the floor where he began choking her with his hands.

As the female tried to flee, she reported that he grabbed her around the throat again and refused to let her leave.

Mooneyham was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated domestic assault, and especially aggravated kidnapping.

Bond was set at $40,000.
