Three students of the Lewisburg Wado-Ryu karate school recently traveled to Murfreesboro and successfully tested for first degree black belt. These students have undergone several years of training to develop skills in forms, fighting, and techniques to qualify to go before a Board of Examiners for testing.
Jacob Rigsby, of Lewisburg Middle School,, Nathaniel Carter, of Forrest Middle and Jainil Patel, of Marshall County High School, are the latest of 60 black belts promoted over the years by Monroe Carter, seventh degree black belt, whose first candidates went before the board in 1986.
