Marshall County Mayor Mike Keny and the board and staff of the Marshall County Public Utilities Board joined in the signing of a proclamation for the Oct. 23 observance of Imagine a Day Without Water.
The national observance is intended to point out the importance of water supply and infrastructure to the prosperity, security, and quality of life that residents enjoy.
Gov. Bill Lee issued a statewide proclamation in support of the day as well.
“We are blessed in Tennessee to have an abundance of water, but we must never take our water for granted,” Lee said. “We are working to drive home the importance of water infrastructure, especially in our rural communities. We hope Imagine a Day Without Water Day will remind all Tennesseans of this valuable resource and the importance of managing our water supply.”
