The Governor's Table Restaurant at Henry Horton State Park will temporarily close for renovations beginning Dec. 18. A tentative reopening is scheduled for mid-late April.

"We wanted to take advantage of the off-season this winter to give the restaurant some much needed updates," Park Manager Ryan Jenkins said. "Come this spring, we're excited to be able to offer our guests our staple menu items as well as some delicious new additions and a classic Southern-style Sunday buffet."

Despite the closure, guests will still be able to enjoy many amenities, including a snack bar that serves hamburgers, hot dogs and more; a camp store that offers ready-to-eat and microwaveable food items; and catering services for corporate and group events.

Most regularly scheduled park events will not be impacted by the temporary closure. The inn, cabins and hiking trails will remain open to visitors.

"There's always a lot happening at Henry Horton to make sure visitors have the best experience possible," said Jenkins. "We have nearly a dozen miles of hiking trails, with more being added this winter. Our ranger-led programs provide lots of fun for kids and families, and we're constantly working to make our Inn and cabins a relaxing, enjoyable place for guests."

Henry Horton State Park is located on the shores of the historic Duck River, one of the most diverse ecosystems in the world. The restaurant seats up to 255 people and includes two private dining areas. For more information about the park, visit http://tnstateparks.com/parks/about/henry-horton.
