Gigantic pumpkins
Clarence Russell from Chapel Hill, grows gigantic pumpkins. This orange fruit weighs 79 pounds. A pumpkin this size will make several pumpkin pies! Billy Hopkins, from the Clay Hill Road area, enjoys watching and waiting for his watermelons to grow. This watermelon, shown in the photo, weighs 51 pounds. The largest watermelon that he has grown, tipped the scales at 90 pounds. He saves seeds from his largest melon to plant the next season.
