Mowing them down
Ethan Mealer went the distance on the mound for Chapel Hill, surrendering just two hits, while striking out eight and walking five Nichirin batters.

A line drive double play thwarted a Nichirin threat in the bottom of the inning and in the home half of the frame, Allante Watts and Luke Terry knocked in one run apiece to make it a 6-0 ballgame.
Mealer walked two consecutive Nichirin batters in the home half of the inning, but escaped with no damage on an inning ending strikeout.
Coward drove home another run in the top of the fourth and in the bottom of the stanza, Nichirin finally broke though as Joseph Freeland drilled a one-out triple to center field and scored on an RBI base hit by Carson Stacey, making it 7-1.
Home run
Jaylen Smith walked with one down in the top of the fifth inning before trotting home on Mealer's dinger, giving Chapel Hill a 9-1 lead.
Brashear stepped in the batter's box and hammered a long drive over the left field fence to complete the back-to-back homerun effort for the Farm Center.
Mealer finished off Nichirin in the bottom of the fifth inning to secure the title for the Chapel Hill squad that finished the season with a 9-1 record.
