It was a cool, breezy day at the ballpark Monday afternoon as Marshall Medical Center (MMC) took on A-Plus Collision Center and Riley Durbin added to the chill, tossing a two-hit complete game on the hill as MMC took an 8-1 five inning, run-rule win.

Durbin gave up zero earned runs while striking nine and walking two A-Plus batters.

Daniel Sellars had both base hits for A-Plus with a leadoff single in the first inning and an RBI base hit in the third inning.

Shane Hay did heavy damage for MMC at the dish, going a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored, a base on balls, and two stolen bases.

Cova Rowland (2B, RS, BB, 2RBIs, 2SB) and Durbin (2RS) had one hit apiece for MMC.

MMC put A-Plus in a 3-0 first inning hole as they scored three times with Hay and Durbin coming up with base hits while Cova Rowland, Beau Schillig, and Brock Rowland all drew a base on balls in the frame.

Sellars led off the bottom of the first with a base hit and stole second base before a Thomas Beech groundball was misplayed at third base, but Sellars got caught trying to score on the play to negate the scoring threat.

MMC added two more runs in the top of the second inning on one hit as A-Plus booted the ball around with three errors in the frame and Hay reached on a wild, wind-aided pop-up single in the infield.

Durbin struck out the side in order in the top of the third inning and there was no more scoring until MMC scored twice in the bottom of the fourth thanks to a leadoff triple by Hay, who came home on a wild pitch.

The other run scored when Durbin walked, Schillig reached on an error, and Caden Mills drew a base on balls to load the bases before Durbin scored on a passed ball.

Durbin whiffed three out of the four batters he faced in the bottom of the fourth and a two-out, RBI double by Cova Rowland ended the contest in the fifth.

MMC moved to 3-2 on the season while A-Plus dropped to 1-4.
