The Robert Lewis Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Society recently completed a grave marking ceremony for two former members.
Linda Orr was a long time member of the chapter. Her mother was one of the founding members of the Robert Lewis Chapter. Linda used her artistic talents to recreate family crests for many of the DAR members. Linda’s two daughters and granddaughter attended the ceremony.
Frances Tindell was a long time member of the chapter. She collected many family stories and loved researching her genealogy. Her family was represented with multiple generations, including a great-granddaughter Caitlin Tindell Messick.
Chapter Regent Elinor Foster conducted the ceremony.
The DAR is a lineage-based membership service organization for women who are directly descended from a person involved in the United States’ efforts towards independence. A non-profit and non-political group, they work to promote historic preservation, education, and patriotism.
