Thefts and vandalism reported
* Sometime during the three weeks leading up to Dec. 19, the padlock of a storage unit on Nashville Highway was removed and the unit was ransacked. Items worth a total of $3,400 were removed. These included military clothing and TA-50 gear, tools, a red Matco toolbox, and a 32-inch Samsung TV.
* On Dec. 13, a young woman from Shelbyville was at the Shell station at the corner of Nashville Highway and North Ellington Parkway when a man came up to her truck and started yelling at her and hitting the truck. As she drove away he broke the brake light cover. The victim reported to police the man had also confronted her at McDonald's. Cost of repairing the damage to the truck was estimated at $2,500.
* On Dec. 19, it was reported that a 55-inch Samsung TV worth $1,000 had been stolen from Saddle Creek Golf Course. Also, the green of hole No. 2 on the golf course was damaged and will cost an estimated $950 to repair.
* On Dec. 18, a Lewisburg woman left her purse on the back floorboard of her car while she was shopping at Kroger. When she got back to the car the purse was gone. It contained $800 cash, and $84 worth of prescription medicines.
* In the early hours of Dec. 19 a Lewisburg man was assaulted and his iPhone5S, worth $699, was stolen. A friend of the victim's was able to stop the assault, and described the assailant as a tall thin man who possibly had a bandana over his face.
* On Dec. 17, a woman reported to police someone entered the home she is renting on Belfast Street and spray painted several obscene signs on the walls, as well as spray painting the mirrors and TV screens. Cost of repairing the damage is estimated at $650.
* Between 5:50 and 6:50 p.m. Dec. 19, three tires, worth a total of $350, were slashed on a Bestway Rentals employee's vehicle while it was parked at the company's location on Mooresville Highway.
* A convenience store clerk reported to Marshall County Sheriff's Department she was tricked into paying $252 to a man. Arriving when the store was busy, the man claimed he was from SSS Graphite Company and said he was there to make a once-a-year change out of the Stop-Leak product. The clerk found out later that all the man did was change some of the product into a different box, put it back on the shelf, and present his bill.
* Around noon Dec. 17, an Acer laptop was found lying on the ground near the fence at Hillside Terrace Apartments. The computer was turned over to Lewisburg Police Department Detective Scott Braden.
* A resident of Reese Road showed Marshall County Sheriff's deputies where someone tried to break into his home through the back door on Dec. 17. No cost of repairing the damage to the door was stated in Deputy Paul Dalton Jr.'s report.
After a stopping a car which was doing 67mph in a 55 mph zone on Mooresville Highway, Lewisburg Police Officer Shaun Crawford made the following arrests:
* Cody M. Tanksley, 19, Athens, Ala. Bond: $9,000; court date: Jan. 6. Charges: minor in possession of alcohol, criminal impersonation, two counts of assault on a police officer (Tanksley allegedly struck both Crawford and Sgt. Chris Sawyers), resisting arrest, and underage consumption.
* Sierra M. Booker, 22, Athens, Ala. Bond; $2,000; court date: Jan. 6. Charge: contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
A 15-year-old girl was also in the car, which was being driven by Booker.

* Nolan E. Pippen, 60, Martin Avenue. Bond and court date not stated. Additional charge: simple possession of marijuana.
* Michael S. Crowder, 29, Haynes Street. Bond not stated; court date: Jan. 14. Additional charge: simple possession of marijuana.
* Shelly D. Ware, 38, Martin Street. Bond and court date not stated.
