Thefts and vandalism reported
* On April 24, a small black pickup truck was backed up to a barn at a home on Cheeves Road, and $3,025 worth of scrap metal was loaded into it and driven away.
* Between 9 a.m. May 20 and 1 p.m. May 24, someone broke into a home on Hearthstone Drive, Chapel Hill, and took $500 in bills and $100 in coins. There is a safe in the house, and the owner kept a paper with the combination written on it hidden behind a picture, and this paper was missing too. Guns and other property may be missing from the safe, but the owner cannot open it now.
* Between May 25 and 27, someone took a black, tilt-bed, two-wheel trailer with a wooden floor, worth $550, from where it was parked at the owner's home on Mahaly Road, Chapel Hill.
* Between May 23 and 26, someone broke the driver's side window of a 2001 Chevy parked at a home in Belfast. The glass will cost $500 to replace.
* A Spring Hill woman reported to Marshall County Sheriff's Deputy Doug McBay someone has been trying to redirect her and her husband's social security checks to a bank in Kentucky, and someone has also tried to use her credit card number. The victims have notified the social security administration, all three credit reporting agencies, and their credit card companies, and detectives are investigating.
