Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Marshall County just held another swearing- in ceremony for the volunteers at the Marshall County Courthouse. The volunteers completed their screening and 10- week training in December 2016. Judge Lee Bussart swore in each volunteer and then allowed them to observe court afterwards on January 30, 2017.
Each of the volunteers will be appointed to cases of abused and/or neglected children to advocate on behalf of the children’s best interests. Each volunteer will work with a child or sibling group until the case is closed, and a safe and permanent placement is found for the child.
The volunteers who were sworn in on January 30 are Peg Chambers, Paulene McRae, Robyn Arnold, Tonya Holley, and Karen Stoltz. These volunteers have joined more than 68,000 CASA volunteers throughout the country.
CASA of Marshall County is excited to host its next volunteer training in the spring. Anyone who is interested in becoming a CASA volunteer may call 931-438-3233 or email casasupervisor@juniorshousecac.org if they want to learn more about CASA or how they can get involved.
