The small town of Cornersville has been in the limelight recently since the high school’s football team has made school history.

This town is also known for friends, neighbors, and family showing compassion for those in need.

Dougie Worsham, a Cornersville native who is having health issues, was honored Saturday night with a benefit that was hosted by many compassionate people. Worsham was able to attend even though he was advised not to have close contact with anyone.

There was quite an impressive turn out as the benefit started with a chili supper and a silent auction in which numerous items were donated. Over 100 homemade pies and cakes were also sold.

Jennifer Jeter sang several songs while the audience entered the auditorium for the pageant. She also made a tribute to the veterans in the audience since this was Veteran’s Day.

The highlight of the night was the “womanless pageant,” with 21 beautiful contestants vying for the crown. These contestants put on quite a show for a packed auditorium at Cornersville High School. As they strutted their stuff, to songs such as She’s a Brick House, This Girl is on Fire, I Feel Like a Woman, and others, the audience laughed and cheered them on. Applause goes out to the 21 “womanless contestants” who entered this pageant.

A special thanks to all of those involved with Worsham’s benefit. A lot of hard work and time was spent preparing for this but was all for a good cause.
