Week Two of band competitions for the Rocket Band of Blue was held at Montgomery Central High School 3rd Annual Indian Nation Marching Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 12.

Under a clear blue sky the band took the field in competition. The Rocket Band of Blue stepped up their performance over last week for an amazing show. For five hours, the critical eyes of the judges watched as 16 bands played, marched, and twirled to the delight of the spectators.

In the end, the Rocket Band of Blue were awarded Best Field Commander, Best Guard, and 1st Place Band in Class AAA. They also won First Place in Division II, Top Color Guard and overall Grand Champion. They were the only band in this competition to receive all "1" ratings.

Director Billy Bateman and the Band were ecstatic after the awards were announced. It was an excellent effort for a young band, especially since about half of the members are middle school students.
