NHC-Oakwood celebrated Halloween with their 5th annual pumpkin decorating contest, Monday, Oct. 28. A total of 35 pumpkins was entered in this year’s contest and one requirement in the decorating was to incorporate a Disney theme.

All 35 pumpkins were very creative, and the judges Mike Keny and Patty Blackburn found it difficult to make a decision on the top three artistically decorated pumpkins.

There was Dumbo the elephant, Pinocchio, Mickey Mouse, the Hocus Pocus witches, Olaf, the snowman, and Sven, the reindeer, from Frozen, Stuart the Minion, Minnie Mouse, Kermit the frog, and a decorated pumpkin representing the house in the Disney movie Up, along with several others.

Angela Inabnitt and the staff at NHC-Oakwood did a remarkable job organizing this contest and assisting the patients in decorating the pumpkins. The Marshall County Tribune and Mike Keny, County Mayor, would like to thank the staff at NHC-Oakwood for inviting them to be a part of this annual contest.
