The upset looked to be complete when the Tigers roared back to take a 30-22 lead with one minute left in the third quarter, but Dickson scored two unanswered fourth-quarter touchdowns to leave Marshall County with the 38-30 win and stay atop the standings.

In the long and storied history of the Moore County Raiders, once one of top 1A powers in the entire state, the Cornersville Bulldogs rarely made a blip on the radar of competitive rivalries.
But with third-year head coach Gerard Randolph, a talented group of young assistant coaches, and a deep veteran ball club, the Bulldogs were able to accomplish something Cornersville had not done in anyone's recent memory.
With dominant 42-0 victory over the Raiders on Friday night, the team from southern Marshall County beat Moore County (2-1, 0-1) twice in a row.

Memorial Field in Chapel Hill and came away with a hard fought 2-0 win.
“It was enough, it wasn’t real pretty, but it was enough and we will take the win,” Forrest coach Nicole Pickle said.
With the win, Forrest evened up its District 6-A record at 1-1, while the Lady Bulldogs dropped to 0-2.
“I would have liked to have three goals in the first half and three more in the second, but we will take the win and move on down the road,” Pickle said.
The first half was mostly evenly played, but Forrest had three good scoring opportunities with two big saves coming from Cornersville goalkeeper Lydia King and another shot off the boot of Zoe Long careening off the crossbar.

Despite competing in the same district for over a decade the Tigerettes and Page have not met in a regular season or tournament match since losing to the Patriots 8-0 in the 2012 district tournament.
In fact, the last time Marshall County (0-3,0-2) even managed a goal versus Page (2-3, 2-0) was during a 5-1 regular season loss during the 2010 regular season and MCHS has been outscored 51-1 in the past decade against the Patriots before Thursday night’s matchup in Rudderville.

After a disappointing 28-6 loss at Fayetteville on August 17, the FMS Rockets (2-1) posted the identical score the other way versus Cascade on Thursday night in Chapel Hill.
“Last week we felt like we left a lot down there in Fayetteville, we didn’t play up to our potential and made a lot of mistakes,” FMS coach Corey Searcy said. “We are getting better one game at a time and that is the goal for us.”
The Rockets struck early and struck often in the first half, scoring a pair of touchdowns in each of the first two quarters to put the Champions in a hole they would never dig out of.
