The Marshall County Dusters (18-15) wrapped up their season on Saturday afternoon when they lost 8-5 to the Dulins Dodgers at Middle Tennessee Christian High School in their final pool game at the MTSU Top Ten tournament.
Marshall County battled the Dodgers to a 4-4 tie through the first three and a half innings of play, but Dulins crossed home plate four times over the next three frames to seize an 8-4 lead before claiming the three-run victory.

On Saturday morning, the Marshall County Dusters suffered their second straight shutout loss when they were defeated 5-0 by the Louisville Phenom at Siegel High School in the MTSU Top Ten tournament.
After being no-hit by Nashville Knights' pitcher Austin Smith, the Dusters (18-14) had their bats silenced once again and mustered just four singles and two walks against Louisville starting hurler Boo Crabtree, who went the distance on the mound to pick up the win.

Coming off a 5-1 extra inning win over the Missouri Bulls earlier in the day, the Marshall County Dusters (18-13) were simply outgunned in their second pool game at the MTSU Top Ten tournament, as they lost 8-0 in five innings to a strong Nashville Knights team on Friday afternoon at Siegel High School.
Knight starting pitcher Austin Smith turned in a dominant performance on the mound and tossed a no-hitter while issuing no walks and notching six strikeouts en route to picking up the win. Marshall County did have two men reach base on an error and a hit batsman, but both runners were quickly erased on double plays.

Having defeated Putnam County 8-4 in the first round two days earlier, the Marshall County Thunder fell into the loser's bracket of the 15-year old Babe Ruth State tournament when they dropped an 11-3 decision to the Lebanon Lions on Sunday afternoon at Lawrence County High School.
Marshall County trailed just 2-1 through the first four innings of play, but things quickly went awry for the Thunder after that point, as Lebanon crossed home plate nine times over the final three frames to pull away for the eight-run victory.

After suffering a humbling 11-0 loss to the Franklin Stealth in the opening round of the 14-year old Babe Ruth State tournament the previous evening, the Marshall County Stars began their long journey through the loser's bracket by defeating the Warren County Pioneers 9-2 on Saturday afternoon in Manchester.
Marshall County held just a 1-0 lead through the first three innings of play, but saw their bats heat up shortly after that point and outscored the Pioneers 8-2 over the next two frames to pull away for the seven-run victory.

Coming off a 9-2 win over Warren County earlier in the day, the Marshall County Stars turned in their most complete performance at the 14-year old Babe Ruth State tournament when they thrashed Johnson City 16-0 in six innings on Saturday night in the second round of the loser's bracket.
The Stars swung hot bats the entire contest and pounded out 17 hits against four Johnson City pitchers to go along with five walks and a hit batsman.

The Marshall County Dusters snapped a two-game losing streak by defeating the Missouri Bulls 5-1 in nine innings on Friday afternoon at Siegel High School in their opening contest at the MTSU Top Ten tournament.
After the two teams battled to a 1-1 tie through the first eight innings of play, the Dusters (18-12) broke the game open by crossing home plate four times in the top of the ninth to claim the victory.

After splitting a pair of games against Shelbyville Post 23 in the Tullahoma Classic over the weekend, the Marshall County Dusters (17-12) lost the rubber match on Tuesday night when they dropped a hard fought 8-7 decision at Joe George Field.
Playing nine innings instead of the usual seven, the Dusters trailed 7-3 through the first four and a half frames before tallying two runs in the bottom of the fifth to narrow the gap to 7-5.

The Middle Tennessee Mudcats' summer season came to a close Monday via a 3-1 loss to Spring Hill in the first round of the Middle Tennessee High School Baseball League Tournament at BGA.
The Mudcats (14-17) looked good at the outset of the contest, scoring a first inning run as Caleb Keller led off with a base on balls before Ryan Yelensky banged a base hit to the right side on a perfect hit and run to put runners on the corners.

After splitting their first two games at the Tullahoma Classic, the Marshall County Dusters improved to 2-1 in pool play by claiming a 9-2 victory over Shelbyville Post 23 on Saturday morning at Shelbyville Central High School.
Aided by a pair of three-run innings, the Dusters (16-9) pounded out 11 hits against three Shelbyville pitchers to go along with five walks and four Post 23 errors.
Matt Sharp led Marshall County's offensive attack by going 3-for-4 with 2 RBI and a run scored, while starting hurler Ryan McDaniel and Bubba Houghton both tallied two hits and a RBI. Hayden Bailey (1 RBI), Connor Bush (1 RBI), Grayson Wiles (1 RBI), and Chandler Harmon notched one hit apiece for the Dusters as well.

Having already secured a spot in the semifinals of the Tullahoma Classic, the Marshall County Dusters finished with a 2-2 record in pool play after losing 7-0 in five innings to the Murfreesboro Central Magnet Tigers on Saturday afternoon at Shelbyville Central High School.
Tiger starting pitcher Michael Zipay went the distance on the mound to earn the win and scattered five hits and four walks over five innings while notching six strikeouts. Marshall County (16-10) also left seven men in scoring position and stranded nine runners on base overall.

The Marshall County Dusters (17-10) advanced to the championship game of the Tullahoma Classic by defeating the Murfreesboro Central Magnet Tigers 4-2 on Sunday afternoon at Tullahoma High School in the semifinals.
Murfreesboro Central Magnet had defeated Marshall County 7-0 the previous day during pool play, but the Dusters turned the tables on the Tigers in Sunday's contest and built a 4-1 lead through the first four and a half innings of play before withstanding a MCM rally attempt to claim the victory.

The Marshall County Dusters (17-11) finished second in the Tullahoma Classic after dropping a 7-3 decision to Shelbyville Post 23 in the championship game on Sunday night at Tullahoma High School.
Marshall County had defeated Shelbyville 9-2 earlier in the tournament, but Post 23 got the better of the Dusters this time around and built a 5-0 lead through the first five innings of play before taking home the four-run victory.

Having already clinched a spot in the 15-year old Babe Ruth State tournament, the Marshall County Thunder were forced to settle for second place in the District 8 tourney when they lost 12-2 to Lawrence County in five innings on Tuesday night at Sam Davis Park.
After defeating Marshall County 11-1 earlier in the tournament, Lawrence County once again silenced the Thunder's bats, as starting pitcher Bryce Clifft and reliever Colby Deuchelle combined to toss a one-hitter.
Clifft picked up the victory on the mound and allowed two runs in four plus innings of work on one hit and four walks while recording four strikeouts. Deuchelle then replaced Clifft on the hill and yielded one walk over one scoreless inning to go along with two strikeouts.

On Monday night, the Marshall County Thunder fell into the loser's bracket of the 15-year old Babe Ruth District tournament after losing 11-1 to Lawrence County in five innings at Sam Davis Park in the second round of the tourney.
Although he issued five walks and hit a batter, Lawrence County starting pitcher Austin Odom proved to be effectively wild and limited Marshall County to just one hit in the contest.

The Marshall County Thunder advanced to the championship round of the 15-year old Babe Ruth District 8 tournament by defeating tourney host Giles County 7-6 on Tuesday night at Sam Davis Park.
After the two teams battled to a 5-5 tie through the first five innings of play, the Thunder scored two runs in the top of the sixth to seize a 7-5 lead before staving off a Giles County rally attempt in the bottom of the seventh.
With their win over Giles County, Marshall County also qualified for the Babe Ruth State tournament, which will be held in Lawrenceburg next week.

The Marshall County 14U all-stars took down Lawrenceburg 11-4 Tuesday night at the Jonathan D. Hollingsworth Memorial Field in Lewisburg, making it two wins in row to rule the winner's bracket of the District 8 Tournament.
Will Johnson picked up the win on the hill for manager Mike Bailey's squad, tossing five solid innings of six-hit ball.
Johnson gave up zero earned runs, while striking out six and walking just one Lawrenceburg batter.
Ben Taylor banged out two hits, including the game changing two-run bases-loaded double as part of Marshall County's huge eight-run third inning.

The Marshall County Stars shined brightly on Sunday night, as they hammered Giles County 11-0 in five innings at Jonathan D. Hollingsworth Memorial Park in the first round of the 14-year old Babe Ruth District tournament.
Aided by a five-run first inning, Marshall County pounded out 12 hits and drew four walks against two Giles County pitchers.
Ben Taylor led the Stars' offensive attack by going 2-for-3 with a double, 3 RBI, and two runs scored. Austin Wood (2 RBI), Trent Richardson (1 RBI), and Iendi Biggers tallied two hits apiece for Marshall County as well, while Jay Howard (1 RBI), Brett McGehee, Will Johnson, and Logan Bailey each had one hit.
