Bolstered by a four-run first inning, the Lady Bulldogs banged out 11 hits overall against Culleoka starting pitcher Mariah Delk to go along with three walks and one Lady Warrior error. more
The Forrest Rockets needed to beat Community in Monday night's all-important winner's bracket match-up to gain the upper hand in the District 9-A Tournament, but the Vikings ruined the plan when Darian Pride belted a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning, propelling the Unionville squad to a 2-1 win. Forrest played Middle Tennessee Christian School in the loser's bracket final Tuesday night, hoping for a win and another chance at the Vikings, who now hold all the cards, needing just one more win to take the district tournament crown. more
Giles County (16-6) knocked the Marshall County Tigerettes (14-14) into the loser's bracket of the District 12-AA tournament when they defeated MCHS 3-1 in the second round on Monday night in Pulaski. Having split the season series with the top seeded Lady Bobcats, the Tigerettes trailed just 1-0 through the first four innings of play, but Giles County tacked on two insurance runs in the bottom of the fifth to open up a 3-0 advantage before claiming their 16th win of the season. more
After belting MTCS 15-0 in three innings in Thursday's District 9-A Tournament opener in Chapel Hill, the Forrest Lady Rockets came back with a tough 3-0 second-round win over a pesky Huntland squad Saturday in Lynchburg. "We have got to do better, we weren't pleased with our hitting at all, but give that little pitcher (Huntland's Tara Cates) credit, she did a good job, keeping us off balance," said Cheatham. "But, we shot ourselves in the foot a few times, when we should have been breaking things open, so we have got to do better Tuesday if we expect to advance." more

Pleasant 12-2 in six innings on Saturday afternoon to notch their sixth straight win over the Tigers. Mt. Pleasant (12-18) held a 2-1 lead through the first three innings of play, but the Bulldogs eventually got their offense on track and scored 11 runs over the next three frames to claim the mercy rule shortened victory. more
The top-seeded Forrest Rockets, coming off a bye in the first-round of the District 9-A Tournament, narrowly escaped an upset bid by No. 4 MTCS Friday night in Chapel Hill when they broke a 3-3 tie with two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning that held up in a 5-3 win. "We got tee-shirts made up that say District 9-A is the SEC of Class-A baseball and I think every baseball game that has been played in the tournament show far has proved that and this one did too," said Forrest head coach Chris Parker. "I knew we have been through some adversity and I knew we would battle back and now we have to go do everything we can do to get the next one, because that guarantees us a spot in the region." more
The Cornersville Lady Bulldogs captured the third seed in the District 11-A tournament by defeating Mt. Pleasant 6-1 on Wednesday afternoon at home to earn a split of the season series with the Lady Tigers. After losing to Mt. Pleasant 4-2 in their previous encounter on March 27, Cornersville (15-10, 5-5 District) needed to beat the Lady Tigers (7-13, 5-5 District) by three or more runs in Wednesday's contest in order to win the tie breaker between the two teams, but held just a 2-1 lead through the first four innings of play. more
The Forrest Lady Rockets finished the regular season in style, celebrating Senior Night with a 10-1 win over Eagleville at the Field of Dreams in Chapel Hill Wednesday night. "I am pleased our seniors got to play and we finished up our district games," said Forrest head coach Becky Cheatham. "We did OK once we got rolling with the bats, Ricky (Stinnett) had to get a little short fused there, but we got rolling and got the job done and I hope we can build on that tomorrow." more

The FMS Rockets continued their dominance of the Duck River Valley Conference Tournament winning their fifth title in the last six years and this time they did it with high drama, sweeping top-seeded Fayetteville 3-2 and 12-1 at Liberty Middle School. "I have to give the boys all the credit in the world, they fought the entire tournament," said FMS head coach Bart Joyce. "They just never gave up and ended winning in a big way the last two games." more

After the Tigerettes built a 4-0 lead through the first three innings of play, MLK tallied a run in the bottom of the fourth to trim the deficit to 4-1 before the game was called at the end of the frame due to time constraints. more

After the two teams battled to a scoreless tie through the first three innings of play, Marshall County tallied a run in each of the next two innings to grab a 2-0 lead before the game was called in the bottom of the fifth due to time constraints. more
On Friday night, the Marshall County Tigers (17-9) laid an egg at Shelbyville Central High School, as the Golden Eagles thrashed MCHS 17-4 in five innings. Shelbyville (6-20) enjoyed their best offensive performance of the season and pounded out 16 hits against four Marshall County pitchers to go along with four walks. The Tigers also compounded their pitching staff's problems by committing eight errors, which led to 11 of the Golden Eagles' 17 runs. more
After beating Martin Luther King Magnet School 4-1 in the first round of the Bronze Division bracket, the Marshall County Tigerettes (11-12) recorded their most impressive win of the season on Saturday afternoon when they slayed the Collierville Lady Dragons 2-1 in the quarterfinals of the Franklin/Sonic Tournament at Fly Park. Having reached the Class AAA State tournament last year, Collierville boasted a 28-8-1 record coming into their contest with MCHS and jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. more
Ravenwood (19-12-2) took home the Bronze Division championship of the Franklin/Sonic Tournament by defeating the Marshall County Tigerettes 11-1 in three innings on Saturday night at Fly Park in the title game. Despite coming up short in the championship contest, MCHS coach Heather Denton thought her team made progress during the tournament after they posted a 4-3 record during the two-day event. more
After a close 3-2 loss to Columbia Central in Chapel Hill on Friday, the Rockets were looking for revenge on the road on Saturday, but the Lions came away winners again by a 6-1 margin, making it four straight wins over Forrest since 2002. On Friday, the Lions scored three runs in the second inning off Forrest starter Ryan Byrd before Jacob Daughrity came to the hill and shut down Columbia Central the rest of the way. more
The Forrest Lady Rockets came within one strike of taking home first place in the Silver Division Saturday at the Sonic Tournament at Fly Park in Franklin, but it was not to be as longtime rival East Robertson pulled out a dramatic 7-6 win in the title game. Forrest opened up the tournament with a pair of shutout wins over Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet School and Ravenwood, highlighted by a grand-slam home run by Sara Jordan versus Hume Fogg. more
