After suffering a pair of close losses to Cornersville during the regular season, the third time proved to be the charm for the Mt. Pleasant Lady Tigers, as they defeated the Lady Bulldogs 3-1 at CHS on Friday evening in the second round of the District 11-A tournament. The two teams were locked in a scoreless tie through the first five innings of play, but Mt. Pleasant (14-10) finally broke the stalemate by scoring three runs in the top of the sixth to seize a 3-0 lead before holding off a Lady Bulldog rally attempt in the bottom of the seventh. more
After earning a bye in the first round of the District 9-A Tournament, the Forrest Rockets (17-8) took to the field on Saturday afternoon against the Community Vikings for a round two match-up and came away with an 11-1 run-rule win. Community eliminated the Rockets last season in the district tournament and it may not have showed on the player's faces, but last year's loss was looming in the back of some of their heads as they stepped onto the field Saturday. more
After scoring just two runs versus Community a few days earlier in the regular-season, the Forrest Lady Rockets blasted the Viqueens 13-2 in the second round of the District 9-A Tournament in Unionville on Saturday. "I was glad to see us come over here and put 13 runs on the board like I knew we could," said Forrest coach Becky Cheatham. "I was not happy with that 2-0 performance last, so they decided to put things in motion." more
Freshman pitcher Mikaela King helped Cornersville keep its season alive, as she tossed her first career shutout to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 13-0 victory over the Culleoka Lady Warriors in five innings on Monday night in the first round of the District 11-A tournament loser's bracket. Thanks to Monday's triumph, Cornersville (11-7) recorded their 21st straight win over Culleoka (1-12) and advanced to play Santa Fe in the second round of the loser's bracket on Tuesday evening. more
Giles County (11-4-1) eliminated Marshall County's soccer team from the playoffs on Friday night when the Bobcats defeated the Tigers 2-0 in the first round of the District 12-A-AA tournament at Sam Davis Park in Pulaski. Having beaten MCHS 3-1 in their lone regular season encounter, Giles County held a 1-0 lead at the end of the first half in Friday's contest before tacking on an insurance goal late in the second stanza to claim their fourth straight win over the Tigers. more
The Marshall County Tigers had a tough road to travel Monday night in Spring Hill, having to win two games to advance to the District 12-AA title game. The Tigers took on the host Raiders in game one and senior Cameron Isley came through on the mound for MCHS, tossing a complete game four-hitter in a 3-1 win. more
Forrest's Samantha King watched in the on-deck circle as Moore County intentionally walked Katie Warrick four times in Tuesday night's District 9-A Tournament winners' bracket final at Community. Then the Raiderettes watched as King blasted a pair of long home runs and drove in six runs in the Lady Rockets' 15-3 run-rule win that put Forrest one win away from the district title, while earning the Chapel Hill girls a berth in the Region 5-A Tournament. more
Forrest spotted Middle Tennessee Christian School (MTCS) three first inning runs before the Rocket bats heated up, burning the Cougars 13-4 in the winner's bracket final of the District 9-A Tournament in Chapel Hill Tuesday night. "It's a big win, last year we had a sour taste in our mouth from that first loss to Community and we got that revenge back and now we have one more game we need to get," said Forrest coach Bart Joyce. The Cornersville Bulldogs sent ace lefty David Looney to the hill last night in the second round of the District 11-A Tournament at Columbia Academy versus Richland. Looney was magnificent, giving up just three hits in the contest, while striking out 16 and walking two Richland batters. "David threw a heck of a game and we made the plays we had to, got the 'W' and stayed out of the loser's bracket," said Cornersville coach Ben Putnam. more

On Tuesday, the Cornersville Bulldogs (14-9) were able overcome some sloppy play in the field with clutch hitting, as they rallied to defeat the Middle Tennessee Christian School Cougars 11-6 at home on Senior Day despite committing four errors. more

Heath Presley dominated the first-round District 12-AA Tournament game at Joe George Field in Lewisburg Thursday as the Cascade senior tossed a complete game four-hitter and went 4-for-4 with three RBIs in a 6-2 win over Marshall County. "We just couldn't get our offense going, I think we ended up with maybe five hits and we spread them out and had a couple of guys in scoring position and just didn't get the big hit when we needed it," said MCHS coach Monk Reese. more
Despite getting off to a slow start offensively, the Cornersville Lady Bulldogs blew out Culleoka for the second time this season when they defeated the Lady Warriors 13-0 on the road in six innings on Thursday night. After inching out to a 1-0 lead through the first three innings of play, the Lady Bulldogs (9-4, 7-1 District) saw their bats catch fire and pushed across 12 runs over the next three frames to cruise to their 20th straight win over Culleoka (1-7, 1-7 District). more
