Cornersville ran into a buzz saw Friday night at Lynchburg, falling 48-7 to Moore County.
"We started the game off with mental mistakes offensively and defensively and it plagued us the entire game," Cornersville coach Gerard Randolph said. "Moore County came out swinging and we never responded to the challenge. You can't win ballgames making the same mental mistakes week after week."

Lewisburg Middle School had a rough Homecoming on Thursday night, losing 40-0 to the Dickson Dragons.
"I told the boys all week, Dickson is the most boring football team in the world and they love it that way," LMS coach Eliot Cook said. "They run it straight up the middle every play and if they get three or four yards they're happy with it. They want third- or fourth-and-short. That's how they play."

Football coaches are a rare breed when it comes to winning and keeping their teams focused on the next opponent.
They are internally satisfied with winning, but rarely does the joy of victory last more than a day as they're always looking to keep their teams moving forward.
"We have to continue to get better each week and not be satisfied on what we have done so far," Forrest coach Matt Kriesky said as his team prepares for a non-conference battle with Page Friday night at Murrey E. Holton Field in Chapel Hill.
