He was preceded in death by his parents Newton Hunter Bills and Ruby Lee Crutcher Bills; and one grandchild, Samuel McKibben Bills; and his wife, Ellen Ledford Bills, who died on January 8th, 2014. Don retired from AEDC and then, with his wife, sold antiques at Ellen's Antiques and Things. He was a member of the church of Christ at Cedar Lane. In his early years, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his later years, he was a sports enthusiast. Throughout his life, he supported his children and was also a supportive husband to a chronically ill wife and gave his own health for her. Visitation was Thursday, May 28, 2015, from 4-6 p.m. at the church of Christ at Cedar Lane with the funeral service following. Service officiates were Pat and Nathan Bills. A private interment follows on Friday, May 29, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to C.U.D.A., which funds children's libraries for the poor in Arequipa, Peru or the missions fund of the church of Christ at Cedar Lane.
