William Richard Jett, 65, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at his residence.
Mr. Jett was a native of Marshall County, and son of the late George Richard and Mamie Catherine Griffis Jett. He was a disabled Vietnam veteran, and was a member of the Baptist church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Jett and Dorothy Jett, and a son-in-law, Christopher Grimes.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Jett of Lewisburg; two daughters, Melinda (Josh Gibbons) Grimes and Eugena Rosie (Jordan Hicks) Grimes; three sons, William R. Jett Jr. of Nashville, and Bernie (Becky Hill) Jett and Bryan (Meranda) Jett, all of Lewisburg; five sisters, Francis Doud, Mary Jane Baugher, Kathleen Lemay, and Ella Mae Jordan, all of Lewisburg, and Christine Rutledge of Fayetteville; five brothers, David Jett and Joe Jett, both of Lewisburg, Edward Jett and Paul Jett, both of Belfast, and George Jett of Fayetteville; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Larry and Norma Bontjes of Wahpeton, N.D. and Grady Cook of Nashville.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, from the chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Short Cemetery.
