Mr. William Ray Cole, 77, of Chapel Hill, TN, died Friday evening, Jan. 21, 2022, at his home near Chapel Hill.

Mr. Cole was born in Marshall County and was a son of the late Emmitt Levi and Hattie Virginia Davidson Cole. In addition to his parents, Ray was also preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy Jo Cole, who died in 2001.

Ray was a graduate of Marshall County High School, Class of 1962, a member of the Church of Christ, and was retired for the Tennessee National Guard where he worked in materials management. In addition to being employed by the Tennessee National Guard, he also served in the National Guard for 32 years, part of that time being deployed during the Desert Storm Campaign.

Mr. Cole is survived by his wife of 15 years, Patricia Cole, Chapel Hill, TN; daughters, Meredith (Andy) Wallace, Lewisburg, TN, Tanya (Steve) Hopper, Wheel community of Bedford County; step-sons, Jason (Lori) Ray, Belfast, TN, Lindsey (LeAnne) Cook, Chapel Hill, TN; sister, Louise Wolaver, Lynnville, TN; brother, James Cole, Lewisburg, TN; grandchildren, Hannah Wallace, Olivia Wallace, Whitney Hopper, Wyatt Hopper; step-grandchildren, Jordan Ray, Logan Ray, Henson Cook, Colton Cook, Brayson Cook, Lawson Cook; step-great grandson, Jackson Ray.

Graveside services, with military honors, will be conducted Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill with Isaac Bourne officiating. Visitation with family members will follow at the Cemetery.
