W.J. "Buddy" Rodgers, 66, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Veterans Hospital in Nashville. He was born in Elkton on Feb. 10, 1947, served as a Lance Cpl. in the U.S. Marines, and retired after 32 years with Pulaski Electric System. W.J. "Buddy" Rodgers, 66, died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013, at Veterans Hospital in Nashville.

He was born in Elkton on Feb. 10, 1947, served as a Lance Cpl. in the U.S. Marines, and retired after 32 years with Pulaski Electric System. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans Association of Giles County, American Legion Post 60, Giles County Veterans Alliance, and a charter member of Marine Corps League of Giles County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Virginia Grace Hastings Rodgers; sister, Pamela Sue Rodgers Tucker; and brother, William Clyde Rodgers.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Faye Rodgers of Pulaski; daughter, Kristie Fox and husband Shane of Pulaski; brothers, Bobby Joe Rodgers of Elkmont, Ala., James Dwight Rodgers and wife Lori of Ardmore, Ala., and Timothy Wayne Rodgers and wife Christy, and Stephen Kendall Rodgers, all of Elkton; sisters, Virginia Ann Rodgers Smith and Billie Faye Rodgers Bass, both of Elkton, Mary Elizabeth Rodgers Storey and husband Wilber of Savannah, Tenn., Shelby Jean Rodgers and husband Mike of Buckhead, Ga., Brenda Joy Rodgers Secrest and husband Kenny of Columbia; grandchild, Aaron Fox; special family members, Tim Tucker of Elkton, Bill Bass of Fayetteville, Judy Rodgers of Buckhead, Ga., and Jami Freeman of Ardmore, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home, Pulaski, followed by the funeral at 1 p.m. in the Carr & Erwin Chapel. Burial will be in Elkton Cemetery.
