Mr. Vernon Douglas “Doug” Kincaid, 91, of the Lunns Store community of Marshall County, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at his home near Chapel Hill. Mr. Kincaid was born in Marshall County and was a son of the late Arthur Lee and Ora Fagan Kincaid. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alverta Inez Bunn Kincaid, who died in 2003; one son, Barry Kincaid, who died earlier this year; sisters, Agnes Hargrove, Esther Windham; brothers, Cecil Kincaid and Loyd Kincaid...

Mr. Vernon Douglas “Doug” Kincaid, 91, of the Lunns Store community of Marshall County, died Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at his home near Chapel Hill.

Mr. Kincaid was born in Marshall County and was a son of the late Arthur Lee and Ora Fagan Kincaid. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alverta Inez Bunn Kincaid, who died in 2003; one son, Barry Kincaid, who died earlier this year; sisters, Agnes Hargrove, Esther Windham; brothers, Cecil Kincaid and Loyd Kincaid.

Mr. Kincaid served his country in the United States Army and was very active in the former Veterans of Foreign Wars Post of Chapel Hill. He was a plant manager for Canada Dry Bottling Company in Miami, FL, and, after moving back to Tennessee, became the Manager of Franklin Dry Cleaners in Franklin, TN from where he retired. Mr. Kincaid was very active in all aspects of the Chapel Hill community but was best known as a historian of northern Marshall County.

Mr. Doug is survived by his daughter, Cheryl (Tommy) Martin, Lunns Store comm.; son, Randy (Kaye) Kincaid, Pottsville comm.; daughter-in-law, Linda Kincaid, Rally Hill comm.; grandchildren, Dana (Clay) Ryan, Amanda Ziegler, Kacy Kincaid, Brad (Linsey) Kincaid, Kevin (Abigail) Martin, Brandie (David) Liggett, Chandra Hall; ten great-grandchildren.

Family members will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, 2020,from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Reed-Walker Cemetery near Chapel Hill.

Randy Kincaid, Tommy Martin, Brad Kincaid, Kevin Martin, Clay Ryan and Johnny Vagts will serve as pallbearers.
