Unwrapping Christ

It is common that one present contains one gift, but consider the greatest present given to mankind by God that contains innumerable gifts. It is His Son, Jesus Christ.

The giving of Christ is something special because as God's heavenly present, He meets every need of every people in every generation regardless of gender, race, or social status.

So come with me as we unwrap the glories of Christ from the books of the Bible.

In Genesis, Christ is the woman's seed. In Exodus, Christ is the Passover lamb. In Leviticus, Christ is the great atonement. In Numbers, Christ is the Tabernacle. In Deuteronomy, Christ is God's coming prophet. In Joshua, Christ is the captain of salvation. In Judges, Christ is the judge of the earth. In Ruth, Christ is the kinsman redeemer. In Samuel and Kings, Christ is the seed of David, the coming king. In Chronicles, Christ is the temple of God. In Ezra, Christ is the restoration of his people. In Nehemiah, Christ is the wall of defense. In Esther, Christ is the scepter of providence. In Job, Christ is the living redeemer. In Psalms, Christ is the praise of God. In Proverbs, Christ is the wisdom of God. In Ecclesiastes, Christ is the only satisfaction. In The Song of Solomon, Christ is the beloved bridegroom. In the prophets, Christ is the holy one of Israel, the root of Jesse, the Lord our righteousness, the faithful husband, the voice of the Lord, the salvation of the Lord, the stronghold in trouble, the glory of the Lord, the sun of righteousness. In Matthew, Christ is the king that saves. In Mark, Christ is the servant of God. In Luke, Christ is the son of Man. In John, Christ is the son of God. In Acts, Christ is the ascended Lord. In Romans, Christ is the gospel power of God unto salvation. In Corinthians, Christ is the risen Lord. In Galatians, Christ is the seed of Abraham. In Ephesians, Christ is the chief corner stone. In Philippians, Christ is our joy. In Colossians, Christ is the hope of glory. In Thessalonians, Christ is the coming Lord. In Timothy, Christ is the one mediator. In Titus, Christ is God our Savior. In Philemon, Christ is every good thing. In Hebrews, Christ is the Apostle and high priest. In James, Christ is the one lawgiver. In Peter, Christ is precious, the shepherd and bishop of our souls. In the Epistles of John, Christ is God's love in the flesh. In Jude, Christ is our keeper. In Revelation, Christ is The King of kings and the Lord of lords.

After 33 years of Christ's life and 66 books of the Bible we will never do justice to the innumerable gifts contained in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Lastly, consider this one question. Have you personally received Jesus Christ, God's Son, as a gift from God to you?
