The Rockets put up 232 total yards on offense, compared to 141 yards for Cascade, but the difference in the game was a pair of late interception returns for touchdowns by visiting Forrest.
After a Lucas Ragsdale TD run from one yard out made it 12-8 in favor of the Champions late in the third quarter, FMS inched to within 12-10 when the Rockets recovered the ball in the end zone for a safety.
Bryton Spitzley, who rushed for 185 yards on 26 carries in the ballgame, scored the second of his two touchdowns on a 9-yard run, putting the Rockets in front for good at 16-12.
Defensive stand
Forrest put the game away on defense in the final period, scoring on a pair of pick sixes with the first touchdown return turned in by Evan Ethridge, when he grabbed a Lucas Ragsdale pass and rumbled 56-yards to pay dirt, making it 22-12.
With Cascade mounting a late threat with less than minute to go in the game, Dustin Brashear came up with his second interception of the season, snatching a Ragsdale errant throw before taking it to the house from 52-yards out.
Spitzley added the two-point conversion to cap the scoring on the night for the Rockets, who host Fayetteville City Thursday night at "The Rock."
Once again, it was Deron "Scrappy" Osborne leading the way in the tackling department for the Rockets, as the middle linebacker made seven tackles in the contest.
Spitzley and Nathan Trout added four tackles apiece, while Lane LaPorte, Dylan Pendley, and Dakota Hartley all had a pair of takedowns each.
