Anthony Joseph “Tony” Morel, born Feb. 24, 1955, in Phoenix, AZ, passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at the age of 65. Tony was raised in Baton Rouge, LA and became a long-time resident of Lewisburg, TN. He was a welder by trade. It was often said he never met a stranger and his smile could light up a room! Anthony Joseph “Tony” Morel, born Feb. 24, 1955, in Phoenix, AZ, passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at the age of 65. Tony was raised in Baton Rouge, LA and became a long-time resident of Lewisburg, TN.
He was a welder by trade. It was often said he never met a stranger and his smile could light up a room! Throughout his life he greatly enjoyed the feeling of freedom that came from riding his motorcycle, playing guitar, and getting tattooed.
He is survived by his only daughter, Emily Morel; brother, David Morel and family; brother, Ronald Morel and family; many nieces; nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul Joseph Morel; mother, Frances Josephine Morel; son, Jesse Morel; brothers, Glenn Morel and Donald Morel; sister, Pamela Morel Giauque; as well as many friends who have gone on before.
A private memorial will be held Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, in Louisiana. The family anticipates a gathering for his TN friends and loved ones to be announced in the near future.
In memory of Tony, donations can be made to any organization helping to rehabilitate addiction.
