Cascade scores first, but Tigers roar back to tie
The Tigers roared back quickly and tied the game when Sam Estes put a misplaced ball behind Cascade keeper, Anthony McPheron. The tie game intensified both squads and it seemed they worked even harder to break through and seize the important Region 6 A-AA victory. The two teams went into the half time break knotted at 2-2.
Early in the second half, at the 65th minute, a yellow card was given to Tiger forward A. J. Morrow for an apparent late slide tackle.
Russell ignites crowd with
late goal
The Tigers were now in a 2-1 hole and the entire squad knew it was time to pick up the intensity if they were going to tie the match and give themselves a chance to win
With just over three minutes left, Tiger senior Trey Russell lifted his team by scoring tying goal to break the tie. Russell's goal would be the last score of the game as both teams left the pitch without the icebreaker.
MCHS traveled to Page on April 20, and then faced Cascade on the road for a rematch on April 24.
