With the regular season coming to a close this week, the Forrest Rockets' trip to White House on Thursday for a dual match with the Blue Devils and Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet started out with an easy 72-12 win over the Blue Knights, followed by a 54-29 triumph over the home squad.
The Rocket wrestlers did not get much work in versus Hume-Fogg, posting 66 points on forfeit wins in the match.
Dante Duncan (106 lbs.), Justin Leonard (113), Austin Porter (120), Isaac Wentzel (126), Bryton Sptizley (138), Ivan Wentzel (152), Jonathan Thornberry (160), William Eddins (170), Dylan Booker (182), Dillon Kydd (220), and Alan Williams (285) all picked up six points apiece on the forfeits.
In the first action on the mat, Hume-Fogg's Liam Dougherty pinned Dillon Duncan in the 132-pound weight class.
Marshall Maxwell (145) picked up the Blue Knights' final points of the match when he won by a fall over Austin Geeting.
Forrest's lone win by non-forfeit came by Cody Donnelly (195), who took down Daylen Fisher in the final match versus the Blue Knights from Nashville.
White House
Two forfeit wins by Duncan and Leonard gave the Rockets an early 12-0 lead over the host Blue Devils before CJ Monce (120) came away with a pin over Tanner Pharis.
White House got on the board when Danny Jeffrey won on a 17-2 technical fall over Isaac Wentzel in the 126-pound weight class.
White House followed with a pin by Patrick Ferguson (132) over Duncan, making it 18-11 before Spitzley righted the ship with a fall over Connor Holder.
Clayton Gilbert (145) pinned Geeting, but Ivan Wentzel got the six points back when he pinned Charles Beasley in the 152-pound division.
Dylan Grissom (160) notched a pin over Jonathan Thornberry, putting White House in the lead by one point 24-23.
The Rockets took the lead for good when Eddins (170) pinned Logan McKenzie before Forrest made it 42-23 on a forfeit win by Booker.
Billy Clanton (195) tallied the final pin of the night for the Rockets, taking down Joshua Dailey and Kydd won by forfeit in the 220-pound weight class.
In the final match of the night, Blue Devil 285-pounder Kyle Cantrell pinned Alan Williams.
The two squads will meet again in the postseason when the Rockets host the TSSAA Region 5 Duals tomorrow in Chapel Hill.
