Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Bryant Castile, 83, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Shelbyville, will be held Sunday, Aug. 4, 2019, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Larry Hames officiating. Burial will follow at Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg, TN. Mr. Castile passed from this life suddenly Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born March 15, 1936, in Petersburg, TN, he was the son of the late Gordon Bryant Casteel and Virginia Mae Whorley Casteel and was preceded in death by his sister, Vadis Casteel Jones; niece, Vonda Kay Jones and brother-in-law, Joe Jones. He was married to Fransuelle Woodard Castile for 65 years. Mr. Castile was a manager in the grocery business and managed Shelbyville Super Market for 18 years, was a past member of the Lewisburg Rotary Club and a member of the Unionville Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Edwin Bryant (Nancy Lynn) Castile of AL; daughter, Nancy Sue (Jerry) Osteen of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Jonathan (Lisa) Castile, Alicia (Fed) Castile, Natalie Osteen and Allison Osteen; great-grandchildren, Abi & Oliver Brownlee; niece, Lisa Casteel Kimbro; and sister-in-law, Elaine Fowler.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the loving care given to Mr. Bob by Dr. Stephen Odom, Dr. Paul Jackson and the staff at the Villages of Murfreesboro Memory Care.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and the Unionville Church of Christ.
