Robert Alton “Bobby” Thompson, Jr., 76, of Lewisburg, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at NHC Lewisburg.
He was a native of Lincoln County, the son of the late Robert Alton Sr. and Mildred Cantrell Thompson. He was a self employed heavy machinery operator and a member of the Lord’s House of Prayer. He served his country in the army during the Vietnam War where he received the Purple Heart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joan Malone Thompson and brother, Billy Thompson.
He is survived by one daughter, Rhonda (Brian) Rose of Bluffton, SC; son, Andy Thompson of Dallas, PA; four grandchildren, Caroline, Emma and William Rose and Carter Thompson.
Graveside services with military honors were conducted Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021, at 2 p.m. at Lone Oak Cemetery Lewisburg, TN 37091 and burial followed.
There was no public visitation.
London Funeral Home and Crematory assisted the family with the arrangements.
