Raquel E. Corkern, 70, of Petersburg, passed away Monday, March 31, 2014, at her residence.
She was born on Nov. 9, 1943, in Roatan, Honduras, to the late Earl and Ernestina Ferrera Gordon. Mrs. Corkern was employed by Sir's Fabrics and was a member of Lone Oak Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, James L. Corkern, and brothers, Ricardo and Earl Gordon.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynnette Gordon of Shelbyville; sons, Juan C. Gordon of Honduras and Alberto Gordon of Petersburg; sister, Consuelo Gordon of Honduras; brother, Arturo Gordon of Petersburg; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Lone Oak Church of Christ with Harold Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Foster Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Gallant-Riverview Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
