Pervis Ray Cox

Mr. Pervis Ray Cox, 79, resident of Lewisburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, April 2, 2021 at St.Thomas West in Nashville.

Funeral Services for Mr.Cox will be conducted on Tuesday, April 6th at 12:00 p.m. at Richland Cumberland Presbyterian Church in the Spring Place Community with Brother Joe Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Short Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Monday, April 5th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Bills-McGaugh & Hamilton Funeral Home, and again on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.

Born on September 13, 1941 in Hartselle, Alabama, he was the son of the late Aubin Pervis Cox and the late Cassie Bell Vest Cox. Ray was a 40-plus year employee of Teledyne in Lewisburg, and retired as the Director of Manufacturing. He was later a general contractor and founder of Ray Cox Builders, and enjoyed his work as a dairy farmer. In his spare time, he was an avid hunter, and loved hunting with his grandboys. Ray was avid supporter of his grandchildren while playing sports. He loved watching Alabama football. Mr. Cox was a longtime elder and member of Richland Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Faye Harris Cox; son, Derrick Cox of Lewisburg; daughters, Lasonya Cox Walls of Lewisburg, Cassie (Will) Thomason; grandchildren, Mackenzie Walls, Aaron (Katie) Thomason, Madison Thomason, and Nathan Thomason.
