Roy Allen Fox, 76, of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at NHC- Oakwood. A native of Marshall County, he was the son of the late Maggie Davis Fox and Ezekiel "Zeke" Fox. A United States Army veteran, he served his country in the Korean War. Roy Allen Fox, 76, of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at NHC- Oakwood.
A native of Marshall County, he was the son of the late Maggie Davis Fox and Ezekiel "Zeke" Fox. A United States Army veteran, he served his country in the Korean War. He retired from Mead Container, and was a member of the VFW Post 5109, Elks Lodge 1990, Dillahunty Masonic Lodge 112, and a member of the Parkview Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, J.B. Fox and Paul Fox; two sisters, Mary McAdams and Fannie Drewitt; and a grandson, Joseph Tyree.
Survivors include two sons, Ray Fox of Cornersville and Robert (Sherri) Fox of Lynchburg; one sister, Betty White of Lewisburg; one stepson, Joey Tyree Jr. of Cornersville; six grandchildren, Jessica (David) Metcalf, Brittany, Hope, Loyd and Alyssa Fox, and Jacob Tyree; and two great-grandchildren, David and Kieliee Metcalf.
Funeral services for Mr. Fox were conducted Saturday, Sept. 3, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with George Turke officiating.
